   The default tolerance for the named equality checks (``numerically_equal`` and friends): the
   ambient jax-aware tolerance, falling back to the defaults in unsafe mode. A pure comparison is
   mode-agnostic (like :py:func:`frames_equal`), so unlike :py:func:`effective_rtol` this never
   returns ``None``.
